Human Calligraphy:
My paintings are a Zen approach to expressing the human form in watercolour. Spontaneity and movement are captured in expressively fluid brush stokes, with a minimalist approach. Each work depicts a moment frozen in time as the subject struggles against a force, twists and turns, dances or collapses in exhaustion.
These works evoke the spontaneity and simplicity of Chinese brush painting, founded upon years of studying and painting the human form.
